Peter McDermott is NthCode's Founder and CEO. He has grown NthCode profitably since starting the company in Beijing in August of 2005.

Computers have fascinated Peter since age six, when his father, an architecture professor, took him to a university computer lab to play educational games on a PLATO graphics terminal. That first experience made an indelible mark on Peter, who spent much the rest of his childhood studying and creating computer programs.

Peter entered college at age 16 and received a bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin.

After working as a Software Engineer in Austin, Texas and Silicon Valley, Peter took a break from life and spent the next two years backpacking around Asia before moving to Beijing in 2002. In Beijing, he worked a Software Engineer and Software Manager on Motorola's first Linux-based mobile phones, the A760, A768, E680, A780, and A1200.

Peter studied Chinese as his foreign language in college. His spoken Chinese and Chinese reading comprehension are both functional.

Peter maintains a personal weblog, Beijing Analog to Digital where he discusses technology, business, and life in Beijing.
